The People of Red Road Farm

John Fusco
While John Fusco is best known as the screenwriter of such movies as "Hidalgo" and "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron," he has been preserving endangered American Indian horse strains for more than ten years. He has also designated Red Road Farm as a home for retired movie horses.

Stephanie Lockhart
Stephanie Lockhart, Program manager and trainer, brings her life long equine experiences to Red Road Farm where she works closely with the growing herd of Choctaw Indian ponies. Her preservation efforts continue to promote the rare Colonial Spanish horse through competition, demonstrations, training and sales. You can visit her own farm website at: www.colonialspanishpony.com

Dr. Phil Sponenberg
D. Phillip Sponenberg is professor of Pathology and Genetics at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. Dr. Sponenberg is an authority on coat color genetics in horses and other livestock and is the author of the highly-regarded Equine Color Genetics.
